We promise to nurture creativity. Our varied drama, dance, theatre studies, art and music program offer our students a wonderful outlet for their creativity. These important curriculum areas not only develop students’ imaginations, but also build self-confidence, self-awareness and strengthen interpersonal skills.

ART, DRAMA AND MUSIC

For budding actors, there is an exciting mix of classroom activities, informal workshops and formal productions where students can develop life skills in speaking clearly, role playing, stagecraft and team building.

Highlights include the annual Junior School Production, Tintern’s legendary Rock Eisteddfod, School Musicals like Guys and Dolls, Senior Drama Productions, and the annual Year 9 and 10 co-production.

Tintern Schools visual arts program gives students from Prep to Year 12 an opportunity to look at their world differently and express their ideas in a variety of visual mediums.

In the Junior School the emphasis is on fun and exploration. By Middle School, students can choose from a wide range of electives such as Metalcraft, Textiles, Visual Communication and Design, Ceramics, Painting, Costume and Photography. our transitional Year 10 programs build on these skills.

Electives like these prepare students for Visual Arts and Design subjects in Years 11 and 12 where they can study IB Visual Arts, VCE Art, Studio Arts (Textiles or Photography) and Visual Communication.

Tintern Schools has a long and proud tradition in music studies. There is music every day of the school year ranging from singing, playing, classroom performances and mini concerts, to performances by larger groups like our award winning orchestra.

We also offer individual tuition on instruments ranging from the Harp to the Tuba, Voice (Classical) and Voice (Contemporary) together with tuition in Theory of Music to meet AAustralian Music Education Board (AMEB) prerequisites.

Music and the performing arts are just two of the many learning areas that benefit from our School’s unique education model.
